My son told his teachers that we did a 9-to-5 job, what should I say to parents who called me to ask me about it?

Throwaway because wife made a chambers account to keep in touch with her friends and I used it to post here and I don't want her knowing I have a chambers account.<br><br>I am a 40 years old guy from a middle eastern country, my son is 10 years old and he is 4th grade, I am a police officer assigned in a police station in the town 30 mins away from our city, I work everyday and take the weekend off. My wife is a full time house wife who uses her free time to read, last week my son went to school and said to his teacher that his father worked from 9am to 5pm and his mother worked from 5pm to 9pm, and he said it in front of parents who heard him and called my wife to ask her about it, she told them the truth and now they are pissed at us because they thought we were lying to them, what should I say to them now? I feel like I'm being judged for working in a respectable job and choosing to take my weekends off, we aren't rich but we make it work.<br><br>Edit: My wife is not "working" I am the one working and providing for her and my son, the term housewife is an occupation for women in the middle east aged 20-60 like how you call a teacher a teacher, doctor a doctor, a police officer a police officer, a housewife is a housewife, I call her that because it's the term everyone in the middle east use for housewives.<br><br>Edit 2: I work full time but I don't work weekends, and we are not a typical western family, we have our own ways and cultures and what's weird for you might make sense to us, I am sure my wife is gonna see this post eventually so I better end this here before she finds out, I am gonna delete this account so please don't message me, thanks for the advice.<br><br>Edit 3: I am gonna delete this account soon, so if you need to say something please do it on this thread, I am not gonna be checking my inbox.<br><br>This is my last edit, I am Arab, and in my country you can't just say to a guy that his wife is doing nothing just because she is staying at home, my country has its own traditions, and I am not gonna tell a 10 years old to tell his classmates that my wife does nothing, I am gonna tell him to tell them that his mother is doing her job and he shouldn't talk about what his mother does at home, my wife does her own job, it's not the same job as mine, but it is a job nonetheless, she takes care of her own family, cooking for us, making sure that our house is clean, and teaching our son, I am working a 9 to 5 job, but we both work 9-9 in a day.<br><br>It's not possible to change a whole culture just because you think your way is the right way, I am not here to change my people's traditions, I am here to tell you how it is, this is how it is, and this is how it's gonna be for years to come, the fact that you think you can change it is laughable, so either accept it or go and live in a country that has your preferred tradition, I couldn't care less.<br><br>I am done here.<br><br>This is my last edit.<br><br>I am done here.
