I saw someone fall off the face of the earth?

It was midnight and I was walking in the parking garage for my apartment. Now I’ve walked it countless times and have been watching this guy walk towards me from a distance. Looks like a regular guy prob in his 30s. I got to my apartment door and had to unlock it. Now maybe I was distracted, the elevator is only like 10 feet from my apartment door. I turn around and he’s just not there. No where. I look up and down the hallway and I don’t see him. It’s a dead end so I would have had to see him turn around. I walked back to the elevator, opened it and walked inside, looking up at the camera, and he’s not there. I got so confused and honestly a little spooked. Now maybe I just zoned out as I was tired, but Idk man that was just so strange.
