Politicians have been using the term "inflation" for decades. Now, lately, they just talk about "the economy" or "the national debt" or other watered-down terms to describe financial problems. They used to talk about inflation, now they don't.

There are talked about inflation for decades, and the problem persists. They're not talking about it as much lately, but that's not really true because inflation is back at decades-long highs. So why are they rarely talking about it anymore?

They don't talk about it anymore because:
A) They failed to control inflation and they lost credibility
B) They don't want to admit that they failed to control inflation because it undermines their credibility
C) Inflation talked about in the past has been under control, and they have no need to talk about it.
D) The "inflation" we are seeing now is not really the same as the inflation of the 1970s, and the politicians are smart enough to know that they should talk about it differently, or not at all
E) They rarely talk about inflation anymore because they have a better understanding of the economy now and know that inflation is not such an important issue.

F) other (please specify)
