CMV: Cops should be given the option to end their career or any future career in law enforcement if they make a 911 call that results in them shooting a citizen.

Over the past few years, we have seen black men and women shot by police first and questioned later. If cops are so scared of black men, they are free to find a new career path. Your fear does not mean the right to take a life. I understand most police are great and they have a hard job. But if your job makes you this nervous and fearful that you end up killing a person, find a different job. This is not equal justice. If you feel so unsafe, go ahead and call for backup but in the mean time, stay in your car. Do not feel the need to approach something you feel is unsafe until backup comes.

Edit: I'm not saying this is a solution, I'm saying this is an idea. The least we can do it try to make a change. And yeah, this is an extreme change.

Edit: Not sure why people are still commenting things like "well in situations like...". You are missing the point and aren't trying to change my view, you just want to make your point valid again. I'm not saying this is right, but I'm saying this is a way to change things. I made a change my view post to do just that, have my views changed. You can try to defend why police get to keep their career when they shoot a man and end his life because the man had a cell phone. You can try to defend that, but its not going to change my view. I'm trying to see things from another perspective so I can understand. I want to change my view, I want to see a different perspective.

And I'm not saying there are many cops like this. Yes, I'm sure this is a small minority. But that doesn't change the fact that they are still cops. I'm not saying all cops, I'm saying cops.

And the reason I'm posting this is because I'm seeing a trend of police shooting black men first and questioning why they felt like they needed to shoot later. I'm not trying to point my finger at white cops and black men. I'm just trying to make this point specifically because it keeps happening.
