I lied about my height and my income on my resume, and I got a job out of it.

I really thought I was being clever. I’m 5’2 and on my resume, I said I’m 5’7. My resume was littered with typos and it was really bad and really short. I don’t have much experience, most of my experience was volunteer work at the local animal shelter and at the main library in the city. At the shelter, I was a dog walker. At the library, I did nothing. I read the whole time. I’m not ashamed. <br><br>I just graduated college with a degree in English as of May and I’m really pressed for a job. I just applied to random places, I didn’t care what type of job I got. I applied to a lot of office jobs. I have a lot of experience in offices. I had two internships in college, one at a realtor company and one at a jewelry store. <br><br>So I got a call from this company last week asking to do a phone interview. I thought I was a shoe in! It went really well, and the lady I was talking to said she looked at my resume and said I would be a good fit. I was fucking ecstatic! I felt so proud of myself and I was so excited to tell my dad. <br><br>It all came crashing down when she asked me about my height. I was so confused. I thought it was a joke, then I realized it wasn’t. I continued and asked why it mattered. There was a long pause. She was silent for a second and asked me if I had any experience with warehouse related work. I did. I worked at a Target warehouse for two years in college. I told her that and she seemed content with that. It didn’t seem to matter that I lied about my height. <br><br>I made it to the next round of the interview. It’s a Zoom interview and I’m really excited! If I get the job, I’ll immediately tell them I lied about my height. <br><br>I don’t know how much they pay, but I’m pretty sure the average is around 60k to 70k and I lied about that. I said I’m expecting 100k. The woman I’m talking to said I would be a good fit. It’s a management job, of some kind. I’m not really sure. I’m really excited though. If I get the job, I’ll immediately tell them I lied about my height. <br><br>My dad is jealous.
