Just used it for the first time and I'm convinced this is going to permanently reduce the nature of human conversations.

I just used chat gpt for the first time and I was blown away by how consistently accurate it was at responding with human-like detail. I made the mistake of testing it. I had a real conversation with a real person that I had zero interest in having an actual conversation with. <br><br>It went for about 15 minutes but, in retrospect, I could have kept it going for hours without having an actual meaningful dialogue. In the 15 minutes, I didn't even ask a real question or express any personal thoughts, feelings, or opinions. <br><br>I’m sure we all know how a lot of the conversations we have in life are so formulaic and shallow. There is an old phrase that “we are only paying attention to what the other person is saying just long enough to find a place to jump in and be relevant.” <br><br>This is definitely an exaggeration, but as far as I’m concerned, this tool is going to continue to make a lot of our conversations even more shallow.
