Just flew in the new United Polaris seats - so disappointed

My fiancé and I just flew United Polaris (Business class) from EWR to LHR. After reading multiple reviews saying that this was the best business class option for transatlantic flights, I was so excited to see how Polaris was. <br><br>First, we got to the airport and now United has removed all Polaris Lounges with the exception of Chicago and San Francisco. We were in Newark, so we were funneled in to a naturally overcrowded United Club. It was disappointing as we were each looking forward to a nice pre-flight shower. <br><br>When we got to the gate, I was already getting disappointed. Even just walking around the plane, the seats look old. Our flight was brand new and the seats looked like it was the eighties. <br><br>I get on the plane, and the flight attendants were all super nice. The food - terrible. The best part was the bread which of course came with fake butter. The rest of the food was like bad airline food. It didn’t even taste like they were trying. <br><br>The worst part was - the seats. As a 6’ tall guy, I was looking forward to stretching out and getting a nice sleep. Do you remember when a song gets really popular and then they release a remix or an acoustic version which was just the original song sung with an acoustic guitar - that is what the new Polaris seat is compared to the old Polaris seat. The original Polaris seats had this futuristic looking hood. The new seats have that futuristic looking hood, but made out of wood and it only covers half your head. It’s so useless. <br><br>I was expecting to at least be able to stretch out a little. Nope. When you turn the seat into a bed, there is an electronic mechanism that moves your legs into the sleeping position. Problem is - my legs did not fit in the sleeping position. Not even close. I had to angle my legs to fit into the little slot and then I had to deal with it cutting off my circulation all night. <br><br>I just woke up - we are landing in a few minutes. I got less than 4 hours of sleep because I am uncomfortable. I am disappointed and am strongly considering going to American Airlines going forward.
