Being a good neighbor is a great investment in your safety and happiness

In the 9 years I lived at my last place, we had 3 break-ins and someone trying to break in twice. Every time our neighbors let us know, and one of the times they even stayed there until the police came, with their bat out.<br><br>In contrast, in the 13 months I've lived at my new place, my neighbors have warned me about both of my cars being broken into, a suspicious man walking around, and an issue with my plumbing. It's a bit of a coincidence that all of these happened when my old neighbors weren't around, but their kindness has helped me avoid a lot of different costs and issues.<br><br>When you move into a new place, the people around you are your best line of defense and your best insurance policy. I make sure to be super nice to mine because I want them to feel comfortable coming to talk to me, and I want them to care about what happens to me. The same should go for you.
