I'm 100% sure men have been gaslighting women for decades about what they actually find attractive in a partner and women have been falling for it left and right.

I don't know if it's because men don't really care about their wives or girlfriends and want to just hit on other women at the club and have an "excuse" for why they're getting rejected. Or if it's just a collective effort to keep selling women on bullshit like "funny is the new sexy" or "casual is more attractive than dressed up". I think it's the latter with a small portion of men doing the former but either way, women have been running with it for decades.
