It's frustrating seeing so many European travel posts from Americans. What's up with that?

I've been to Europe a few dozen times so far. And I did it on a budget because I had to. I drove or took the train everywhere because flying was too expensive, I always stayed in hostels because hotels were too expensive, and I often cooked my own food because eating out was too expensive.

And I didn't even live in the US. From where I was it was faster and cheaper to get to most of Europe than it is for most Americans to get to DC. So what I'm saying is, I don't want to hear any excuses.

What frustrates me more is that the US has so much great stuff to see and do. I see some Americans getting on a 10 hour flight to London or Paris to see a city they could see domestically for less money and way less hassle. New York, DC, Miami, Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, New Orleans, Seattle, and Boston are all world class big cities that can satisfy any desire for city travel. You can explore many different climates and environments like the desert in Arizona, the mountains in Colorado, the lakes in Minnesota, the ocean in California, and the forests of New England.

I'm not saying people shouldn't travel. I'm saying they should explore their own country first.
