My dad (52M) currently has a severe case of COVID. While he’s going to be okay, it forced me to move back in with my parents.

I’m working 40 hours a week currently. When I’m not working, I’m studying for law school, or helping out with my dad.

I’ve been lonely for a while, but it’s gotten worse. I’m married and my wife (25F) is in a different state but she’s 2 hours ahead of my time zone so we don’t see each other often.

Back to the topic. I got COVID, and a neighbor brought over chicken soup. She’s a 35 year old woman and she’s married. I didn’t expect her to do that, and I was touched by her kindness! I want to get to know her better but I’m afraid I might come off as too flirtatious or weird.

I don’t want to come off as flirtatious because she’s married and I respect that. I don’t want to come off as weird because I don’t want her to think I’m some lonely weirdo.

I’ve been talking to her by text as much as I can. I tried to initiate conversations about her interests, or what she likes, but I feel like I’m doing this all wrong.

Any advice?
