The question "Why anything?" is primordial. We don't ask it more because we are afraid that there is no answer, and therefore the question could lead to nihilism.

The question or the primordial anxiety "Why anything?" gives us access to existence as a whole. It is the kind of question that transforms us, since it opens our being to the questions of being. It is existential because it exists for us. We are the ones who are asking this question, and we pass from the questions of being to the question of being. We are the ones who ask for the meaning of existence itself. In this question, we are asking something that is beyond the totality itself; we are not asking ourselves, we are asking for or about the whole. We are nothing but who is asking.

The question "why anything?" has been formulated in several ways:

- Why is there something rather than nothing? (Heidegger and Leibniz)

- Why is there being at all and not rather nothing? (Heidegger)

- Why the universe? (Krauss)

- Why is there anything? (Carroll)

- Why should something exist rather than nothing?

- Why not nothing?

- Why does the world exist? (Laurie Paul)

- Why does the universe exist?

- Why should anything exist at all (Smolin)

- Why something exists?

- Why is there existence?

- Why is there so much of existence?

- Why is it like that? (Cioran)

- Why the world?

- What is the origin or cause of the universe?

- Why is there this?

We also ask ourselves why we should exist, why do we exist, why we should be born, why we are born, why we die, why life on Earth, why we love, why we suffer, why evil, why nothing, why something, why this something and not another, why this? why is the world like this? why is it so difficult to be born? why is it so difficult to be in the world? why is it so difficult to be? why nothingness? why being? why this being? why the universe? why the world? why this world? or primordially, why this? why life? why death? why everything? why something? why nothing? why anything? why nothing? why is there something rather than nothing? why there is not nothing rather than something? why not nothing? why is there the universe? why is there the world? why is there existence? why is there so much existence?
