I'm convinced single men are mostly scared of 90% of women. Most men know they can't date 90% of women and that's why they wait around for the 10% they have a chance with. This is why men won't be more aggressive in pursuit of women.

It's too risky. If they pursue a woman they know they have little chance with and she ends up saying no they will be humiliated. So they just stay quiet, and wait for the women to throw themselves at them. This is why men don't generally try and pursue women who seem out of their league. Too much risk. This is why men are satisfied with the least amount of sex possible. It's too risky to pursue women so they have little outlet for their libido.
