It seems like China is about to become the Worlds leading economic power before the end of the decade. China is Authoritarian. Capitalism basically requires freedom to operate. Not that you can't have some degree of Capitalism under Authoritarianism, but the point of Capitalism is to provide for the masses, it does not require freedom, it just happens to provide for more people when there is freedom.

So did Capitalism really win?

Soviet Union fell, but China took on everything that was good about Capitalism, combined it with their authoritarianism, and look where it has got them. In many ways China is also more Capitalistic than the US and other Western countries.
