Who's here because they lost the ability to believe in anything else?

I just read about this timeline's version of the Kardashev scale in a book of sci-fi essays, and I have been excitedly researching everything ever since. I'm into the whole idea of technological determinism, the HCC, and the concept of the Emporer's mind. <br><br>I keep trying to poke holes in this idea, but a part of me hopes its true. I've lost the ability to believe in anything else.<br><br>I just want to see the world change, I want society to advance to the point where capitalism is obsolete. I want the world to be better, i want humans to be better, I want us to be able to take care of ourselves and the planet. <br><br>I am 18, my generation is the last generation that may be able to see a change, i want to do everything I can as a citizen to make sure that change happens, and I want to see what the future holds.
