I matched with a guy I knew who was convicted for murder. He matched with me just to tell me "you're pretty". I blocked him and was wondering is this a bad thing? I don't think that was my best decision

when I was 11 he was the boyfriend of one of my moms friends. He was good looking and my mom said he was an asshole to her.

about 8 years ago he went off the grid and the next time I thought about him was when I saw on the local news that he had finally been arrested for the murder of his 16 year old girlfriend when he was in his early 30s

I am not kidding. This guy had gotten away with it for decades until they arrested him in another state where he had moved to and was living under an alias. they matched his DNA and arrested him. he is still serving his sentence

I had COMPLETELY forgotten about him but he did match with me on a dating app so I looked into it. he was able to use the app where he is in prison due to Google voice or something. I do not know if he can communicate with anyone there or not. I don't know how he matched with me but I think it was just a mistake because I don't live near the jail he is in

anyway that just freaked me out and I blocked him. but the question is can he do anything to me now by just matching with me? I don't think it's illegal but can he like contact people or get to someone to get to me or something? I know it's a weird thing to think about but I don't know, man.
