As a woman asked me out and we went on a date together, and I turned her down. It was the best decision I ever made.

The girl I asked out was beautiful and I was too shy to ask her out, so I ended up asking out another girl who was a bit more ugly. I didn’t think too much of it because she seemed to be a nice person and had a good personality, and I assumed that she would still be happy with me. However, she asked me out on a date, and when I asked her why, she said that she was interested in me because she thought I was “cool” and “fun to be around”. I was taken aback by her response and felt like she was just settling for me because she couldn’t get the girl she liked. I politely declined her offer and explained that I wasn’t interested in dating her because she seemed to be interested in me for the wrong reasons. She was understandably disappointed, but I stood by my decision. In retrospect, it was the best decision I ever made. It saved me from potentially getting into a relationship with someone who didn’t genuinely like me for who I was, and I learned a valuable lesson about being confident and not settling for anything less than what I deserve. I still feel good about turning her down.
