AITA for refusing to lend my car to my mom who has refused to let me get my drivers license?

I'll try to make this as short and clear as possible but this has been an issue for a while now.

My mom refused to let me get my driver's license last year because she said I needed to get into a good college first and I did. I go to a good university now, about an hour away from home but I commute and have classes only 2 days a week.

I asked her again this semester if I can get my license but she said no, I need to finish at least my sophomore year before I can think about it, which is not happening anytime soon as I'm still a freshmen. So l live without a license. It's not too bad because everything I need is close by but it is frustrating to have no freedom.

Now my car broke down and she needs to take it to the shop. She was going to call a taxi, but then suddenly remembered that I have a car that was left to me by my grandma. I was 4 when she died and her family all chipped to buy her a brand new car but she passed away before she could even pick it up from the dealership. It's been sitting in our driveway for 15 years and neither me or my mom will drive it because it doesn't have an engine. Yes it doesn't have an engine because my grandma wanted a sky blue convertible but my grandpa said it was too flashy so she wanted to get a custom engine. My mom took the car but my grandpa took the engine. We've had it for 15 years but never used it because neither my mom or I wanted to replace the custom engine and also, we just don't want to upset my grandpa, he's 90.

I have no problem with this but it means the car is just sitting in the driveway. It's in good condition though and I have been begging my mom to sell it or trade it but she says it was my grandma's first car she ever bought and she wants to keep it. So I suggested I sell it so I can buy a car I actually use but she said that's out of the question. So the car just sits there. Sometimes, I'll hire someone to maintain it but it's just pointless because no one will ever drive it.

So today while she was looking for a taxi, my mom asked me if she can borrow the car and I said sure, I can take you to the shop. And she said no, I need to borrow the car. So I told her that's not possible because it doesn't have an engine. And she said well then put an engine in it. So I told her I've been asking her for years to let me replace the engine and she's always said no.

She got mad and said fine, I'll call my dad then because he'll say yes. My dad lives on the other side of the country and we don't talk often and I know he'll say yes to her because he always does. So I said fine, but I'm not driving it to the shop. My mom asked what do you mean, I said I've asked you for years to let me get my drivers license and you said no, but now you suddenly want me to drive you to the shop? So either you let me get my license or you call a taxi. She got mad at me and called my dad who agreed with her and told me I need to let her borrow the car.

AITA?
