In just a few days, I've seen:

* A post with an obvious event study finding (business crashes! prices go up!) being taken at face value as proof of a causal effect, with no discussion of identification
* A polling post asking what "the minimum wage should be", with no discussion of the actual effects of the minimum wage; i.e. the first principle of any discussion of policy
* A post about the "worst jobs in the world" that was simply a collection of hyperlink thumbnails, with a comment section that was about 80% anecdotes (This reminds me of my friend!) and about 20% mentioning any actual data or research
* A post saying that the majority of PhD students want to drop out and leave academia, and the top comment responding with something entirely useless
* A post about the "kind of student who gets an Ivy League PhD", and the top response being a comment that was just a table from 2017(!!). I could find much better, more current, data in about ten seconds on google
* A (now removed) post asking what the effects of a UBI would be, and the top response being a study from 2019
* A megathread of students asking about grad school with no discussion of basic facts about the PhD job market or the stats on hiring and attrition

I've been a regular lurker on this sub for years and I feel like it's really declined in quality. I get that Chambers is no longer a major part of my life, but I never see discussion of actual research or evidence on this sub anymore.
