How would you feel about changing the format for our writing prompts?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the sub and I think there are some changes we could make to make the sub more fun.<br><br>1) **Change the format for our writing prompts.** <br><br>The current format is a bit clunky and the set rules can be hard to implement with some prompts. I think switching to a format of alternating prompts would be beneficial. With one prompt, submissions would be open and can be from any genre and follow any structure. The next prompt, submissions would only be open for poetry or dialogues, or only one genre. The next prompt can be open again and the one after can be more specific. This will provide opportunities for both open submissions and the more specific prompts that aren’t in the current format.<br><br>The current format includes 10 general prompts, 3 poetry/dialogue prompts, 3 romantic prompts, 3 horror prompts, and 3 sci-fi prompts. I think it would be beneficial to go to a 50/30/20 format. 50% of prompts would be completely open submissions, 30% would allow for one genre or topic and 20% would be only one structure or genre. If we switch to 30 prompts a month, that would be 15 prompts open to any structure or genre, 6 prompts to one structure or genre, and 6 prompts only to one genre or structure. <br><br>2) **Post more writing prompts.** <br><br>Currently, we post 20 prompts a month. I think it would be beneficial to switch to 30 prompts a month. With 30 prompts, we could go to a 50/30/20 format while also providing more opportunities for writing prompts. <br><br>3) **Change the format of our current regular prompts.** <br><br>I think that some of our prompts are a bit meh, like the “write a story with the title (insert title here)” prompts. While these prompts can be beneficial for new prompts, I think they are a bit overused and boring. I think we can come up with some better more interesting prompts to replace them with. <br><br>What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it would be beneficial? Do you have any suggestions?
