Imagine that the Black Death, the pandemic that occurred from 1346 to 1353, did not occur until 1446 to 1453. How would this have affected European history? Would the culture and values of the time period have been able to absorb its impact, with little change in the aftermath? Or would it have still caused a huge shift in society? Would the culture and values change at all in anticipation of the plague?

For context, with the Black Death, before it occurred, religion and the church dominated nearly every aspect of life and with the aftermath of the plague, people felt like questioning the church far more and it no longer had that same status.
