It's funny how a lot of the feminist arguments and accomplishments have been brushed off and downplayed while the men's rights movement has gained traction and acceptance. <br><br>The fact that women were oppressed in the workplace is a non-issue to most people today and is largely a footnote in our history books. However, men who were oppressed in the workplace are a hot topic and women are blamed for it. The fact that women were oppressed in the streets by police is met with a yawn. However, men are outraged that women don't get the same treatment and think it's unfair.<br><br>The fact that women had to fight for their rights and freedoms in the civil rights era is a victory that is celebrated and largely considered "won." However, the men's rights movement is a response to what many believe is unfinished business. The fact that men have been losing in every aspect of life since the civil rights era is an issue that needs to be addressed.<br><br>Women have been in a position of strength and power in the US since the civil rights era. It's a fact that is ignored by many today.
