I was a kid and wrongfully accused of taking something

I was a kid. 12-13. I rode my bike to the gas station, and I bought a bottle of juice. I only had a $5. The bottle of juice was $1.49. I paid with the $5 and he gave me my $3.51 in change. I left the store and rode my bike on down the road. Now I forgot to tell you. I lived in a very rural area. 5 miles down the road, there was a little lake, and it had a little park. There was a little playground for kids (I was a kid, so of course I stopped to play). So I spend 30 minutes or so just swinging and sliding around. I get bored, and get on my bike and decide to head back to the gas station. As I pull in on my bike, a police car pulls in behind me. Now, as a kid, this is weird, so I stop and pull over. A cop and the gas station attendant come running towards me. They are yelling "we saw you take that money! You gonna end up just like your brother!" I was in shock, and I had no idea what was going on. I tell them "I rode my bike down here, bought a bottle of juice, got my change and rode down the road to play on the swings". The gas station attendant and the cop say "we didn't see you leave! You stole that money!" They search me and only find $3.51 on me (remember, that's the change I was supposed to get). They say "where is the rest of it? You took a whole $5!" I kept telling them I rode down to the park, and showed them the bottle of juice and the swings that I was on. They still didn't believe me. Finally they took me down to the station and locked me in a cell. I was terrified. I had never been in trouble, and here I am in jail for something I didn't do. After a few hours, my parents came to bail me out. In the car on the way home, I tell them what happened. They tell me they are going to go to the gas station tomorrow and see what's going on with that. I later found out that the attendant and the cop were trying to frame me because my brother was about to go to jail for burglary. I don't know if they were trying to get my brother a longer sentence or not, but the whole thing pissed me off.

So gas station attendant and cop, you both tried to ruin a little kids life because of what my brother did. But I didn't do anything wrong, and I hope you both got what was coming to you.

Edit:

Wow, I didn't know this story was going to blow up. Thank you all so much for the support. I grew up to be a good person, no felonies or anything. My brother grew up to be a good person too. He's an area manager for a chain of restaurants. You can change your life around. Just don't let one mistake define you.
