Fat women have always been seen as a lower social status than thin women and it always will be

I never understood the argument of “it’s not that bad anymore, society has progressed”. Women (and men) have been obsessed with body image and appearance since the dawn of time. There is no reason to believe that fat women would ever not be looked down on socially. I think people just want to pretend like they live in some utopia and that we’ve reached equality but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Fat women are just more accepted now because it’s been normalized, but that doesn’t mean they have the same social status as thin women.
