Red dot sight for possible carry gun?

I have a Tavor 7 and it's amazing to shoot, so a friend suggested taking off the full length rail and laying it low on a chest rig as a possible carry gun. It has a red dot sight and gives an awesome view over an obstacle. What are your thoughts?
