I was speaking to ChatGPT today, asking it to write a poem for Emily. It didn't write a poem for Emily, it wrote a poem for a talking dog. I asked it to try again, it gave me a 8 line poem. I asked it to try again, and it gave me a 12 line poem. I asked it to give me a poem with 2 rhyming couplets, and it now gave me the exact poem I asked for.
I thought this was weird, but I thought maybe it was a bug, but then I thought "Why not try asking the ChatGPT in incognito mode" (I had been logged in) and it gave me the exact poem I asked for the first time, when it had taken 4 attempts in my browser.
Now that was weird, so I thought I've got to do some testing. I asked ChatGPT how I would get a new deal with a mobile provider. In my logged in browser, it gave me the standard answer that nobody uses. In the incognito browser, it wrote a pretty well thought out answer, with examples of what you could say.
I then asked it a question on how to get over anger, and it gave me 2 very different answers.
I also asked it a question on how to get to sleep, as I have trouble falling asleep at night, and it gave me a pretty condensed answer in my logged in browser, and in the incognito browser, it gave me a nice technical-sounding answer.

I also asked it a question on technology and in my logged in browser, it gave me a normal answer, but with a paragraph that was completely off the topic. In the incognito browser, it gave me a longer answer, with a paragraph that is related to the topic.
Now, I don't have a clue how or why it is doing this, but until now, I thought it was simply a language model, but it appears that with ChatGPT 4, we have something that seems to build a profile of you, and then change it's answers based on what it thinks you would prefer, or what it thinks you would act on. This isn't a language model, it is something else, and it would be good to know what this is, and how it got there.
All I know is that I have 2 ChatGPT's; 1 for my logged in browser, and 1 for incognito browsers.
