State Law Enforcement guy saw it on cold case files and reached out cause he heard the story when he was on the force in the area I got robbed in. Its a 4.5 hour drive from our house so we drove up this morning and they took my statement.

They are opening up the case, there was a suspect, and they got DNA samples from me. I used a gatorade bottle to give a sample cause they said it was a “quick way to get a sample of inside of the cheek” and boy did it hurt.

Results will take a few months, I’m still waiting for the backstory on the suspect but hoping for the best.

I got robbed at gunpoint 3 years ago. The guy was about 20 years old and had a 9mm handgun with a bullet in the chamber. I had a concealed carry permit and a glock 43x on me but didn’t have a round in the chamber. I tried to draw my gun, but he already had the gun pointed at me and took my wallet. Im now a firm believer in having a round in the chamber and would never carry any other way again.
