Elon Musk has acquired a 9.2% stake in Twitter, after purchasing nearly 73.5 million shares, the billionaire disclosed Monday in a regulatory filing with the SEC. He is now the company's largest shareholder, surpassing the 8.8% owned by Vanguard, a investment advisory firm.<br><br>In the filing, Musk was listed as one of Twitter's largest long-term shareholders, according to a report from CNBC. Before Monday, Musk owned less than 5% of Twitter. The Tesla CEO has been a vocal Twitter user who often tweets about his thoughts on tech, space and social issues.<br><br>The disclosure also makes Musk Twitter's largest corporate stakeholder, ahead of its own board members and executives. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal owns 0.14% of the company's shares, while co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey owns 2.4%, according to Reuters.
