The discovery came as a shock to our understanding of the universe. Our solar system is at the edge of a galaxy known as the Milky Way. It contains billions of stars and planets. In our solar system, the inner space is reserved for the terrestrial planets, while the outer space is reserved for gas giants, like Jupiter and Saturn, which are followed by the ice giants, Neptune and Uranus, and finally the Kuiper Belt. Billion of kilometers away, we have Neptune and Pluto. Earth is not supposed to carry its own satellites, let alone two. Our understanding of the gravitational forces of the Earth were completely wrong. If Earth was able to carry more than one satellite into space, that would mean that we would be able to colonize it. We could finally make the next step for humanity. But have all those spacecraft passed our satellites?
