White women have always been obsessed with the idea of the "tragic mulatto" but it's actually the reverse.

The "tragic mulatto" is a fictional architype that was created by white women to further their eugenics agenda by sympathizing with the "poor mixed race girl" while also further stigmatizing and perpetuating the already deep seated racial prejudices that already existed in the US against blacks.

This is why you will rarely see white men writing stories or making movies about the "tragic mulatto." White men don't give a shit. It's all a PR campaign to make white women feel like superior humans while also further solidifying the inferiority of blacks.

This is another way that white women benefit from being white. Their lives are made more interesting because they get to see "poor Poc" as either a cautionary tale (don't fuck a black guy) or as a reason for them to feel superior (Look, poor Poc is suffering so much! I am so much better than them).

You will also notice that it's always a male/female mix, never male/male or female/female. This is because the point is to keep a woman "in her place" while also making sure a man knows his place in the hierarchy. If a mulatto man were the tragic figure, then maybe he'd start thinking that he's on par with a white man.
