The most interesting thing about the USA are the non-Americans within it

As a European, I don't really find the USA itself that interesting for world building as it's pretty straight forward. The politics, the people, the culture, the economy, etc, etc. All that is quite self explanatory.

What I find more interesting is the pockets of non-Americans living within the USA.

For example native Americans, Hawaiians, Puerto Ricans (and other people from the US territories), US citizens living on the US mainland who are mostly Latin American, Afro Americans, and the non-US citizens within the US who are refugees living in cities like Dearborn.
