My boyfriend came home and said "oh no, I think he's dead". Me: "who?" Him: "the cyclist". What does he do?

My boyfriend is 45, doesn't drink much, doesn't do drugs, very calm and very nice. He comes home from work most days on his motorbike. <br><br>He went to the pub last night with a friend and had a pint. On his way home he knocked a cyclist off his bike. The cyclist died. <br><br>I'm going crazy. How did this happen?
