Air fryer actually worth buying?

All my friends are talking about their air fryers and how they are such a game changer but being an actual chef I am skeptical. I've read a few comparisons it seems like they are fast and easy to clean but the results aren't actually that great - maybe a bit better than oven fries. Is that a good enough reason to get an air fryer? Or for my next kitchen addition should I go with a pressure cooker?
