What was the Heian period like in Japan?

The Heian period is something I'm fascinated in and I would like to know what it was like to live in this era. What were the daily lives of the people who lived during this time. What kind of clothes people wore, what kind of houses people lived in, what people used as currency, what jobs were available. Thanks!
