Quit lying about why you carry a Glock

Hey y'all, it's a gun owner from Australia. While our gun laws are amongst the strictest in the world, I do have a handful of firearms, and I'm quite fond of them all.

Unfortunately for us gun owners, carrying handguns is pretty much illegal, unless you're an armoured guard or similar, so we don't really have a culture of carry. I do however often wonder, why do so many people say Glocks are the best carry gun.

In my opinion, they're not that great looking, they're not that accurate, they ain't cheap, and they're bloody massive for a skinny little 9mm. I'm sure there are a few of you out there who do pull them out of your jeans occasionally, but the average Glock 19 is going to stand out in a big way.

I have a few of the HK VP9s, and they're honestly one of the nicest guns I've ever handled, I'm sure there are other nice ones out there as well. I feel like you guys just say Glocks are the best carry, because it's a manly thing to pull out a 1lb hunk of black plastic from your boot.

I've never owned a Glock, they don't interest me at all. I do however like the look of the new S&W APX, and a few other similar models. Should I give the Glocks a fair go? Or do I just eat my words and let Marines and police have their Glocks?

This is all in good fun, and I do believe we've all got different tastes and preferences.
