My friend might become a professional killer

My friend "Tom" is a pretty cool guy. He's always there to help me out when I need him and he's just an all around awesome person. <br><br>We've been friends for over ten years and I can't imagine him ever doing anything to hurt me. He's never given me a reason to be afraid of him and he's always been there as a supportive friend. <br><br>One day he and I were hanging out talking about random stuff when he told me something that shocked me. <br><br>"Chris, you know how I've always been fascinated with the military?"<br><br>"Yeah, but you're not joining right?"<br><br>"No I'm not. I'm going to become a professional killer."<br><br>"Huh? What do you mean?"<br><br>"I've always been fascinated by hitmen and assassins. Although it's wrong, I think it's cool that someone would get paid to kill other people. I've always thought about what it would be like to be a hitman. To have someone pay me to kill another person."<br><br>"That's messed up Tom." I said, shocked.<br><br>"I know it's messed up, but I want to do it anyway."<br><br>"Why?"<br><br>"Because I think it would be a rush and I love the idea of it. I wouldn't kill just anyone though, I would only kill people who I think deserve it."<br><br>"What kind of people?"<br><br>"People who hurt others. Rapists, murderers, child molesters. People like that." <br><br>"Hmm, I never thought about that."<br><br>"Yeah, that's what I want to do. And I can't tell anyone else about it, so you're the only person I've ever told."<br><br>"You know if you ever get caught, you'll go to prison right?"<br><br>"Yeah, I know that." he said. <br><br>"Well, just be careful okay?"<br><br>"Yeah, don't worry Chris. I'll always be careful."<br><br>I know it sounds crazy, but I trust Tom. And if he's going to kill people who deserve to die anyway, he might actually be doing society a favor. Although it is messed up, I'm going to let him do it. As long as he doesn't kill anyone I care about, I'll always consider him a friend and I will always be there to support him. <br><br>And who knows, maybe he'll become the world's best hitman. <br><br>Edit: Wow, wasn't expecting this many responses.
