I stole my coworkers, $10,000.00 Rolex and sold it to pay back my house, I feel like I want to puke.

I have a long commute to work and on multiple occasions I would catch rides with coworkers. I have never done anything wrong in my career. <br><br>One day a coworker gave me a ride to work after some overtime and I noticed his Rolex. He told me it was a $10,000.00 Rolex. <br><br>As I had some financial problems I knew this was my way out. Months went by, I was in a financial straits, behind on house payments.<br><br>After the summer we had a company wide party, and a coworker said he would give me a ride to another coworkers house as we would be drinking during the night. <br><br>We left early and he told me he wanted to drive behind a local bank to do his banking. He looked behind at our other friends and told me to hold his $10,000.00 Rolex. <br><br>I had never stolen anything in my life and never felt so nervous and guiltly. <br><br>I held the watch for about four minutes until he we drove back to the front of the bank. I remember holding the watch and not knowing where or how to hide it, so I put it in my pants. <br><br>I was so nervous he noticed or felt that it was gone. I knew if I had it for 30 seconds longer I would of stolen it. <br><br>That night I had many drinks we went to several bars. At the end of the night he asked if I wanted to crash at his house. <br><br>I knew, if I went to his house he would get ready for bed and I would have to steal it. I knew if I did I would never be able to live with myself. <br><br>So I made up some lie that I had to go help a friend and meet my other friends at the bar. <br><br>I left he dropped me off at the bar and I had so many beers and felt like I was in the clear,<br><br>I told some of my friends that I wanted to go home and they said we would take you. We went to their house and started drinking more beers.<br><br>After the night we all were drunk and I had passed out on their couch in the living room. Woke up the next morning and they told me my ride was waiting for me. It was my original coworker,<br><br>He offered me a ride and I said yes, I didn't even think he would remember that he gave me a ride the night before and I lied to him. <br><br>This time he didn't say a word, just dropped me off. <br><br>After Christmas, I received a call and he said I hope you don't mind but I am getting married and was wanting to give you a Christmas gift. <br><br>This is my $10,000.00 Rolex, I know I wont need two and this one is my favorite. <br><br>I was so flattered, I had never felt so honored. I told him I would treasure it and it is my favorite watch. <br><br>Weeks went by, and here I am. My house is in jeopardy of foreclosure and I have no money left to save it. <br><br>I can not justify selling this watch as it will never be the same. But I did it anyway, I sold the Rolex and paid the bank to get my house caught up. <br><br>I have never felt so gross and ashamed. I told my wife the entire story and she was in tears. <br><br>I just want my friend back. I just want to say I'm sorry, Please take your watch back and I will give you the money as well as you should never buy me a gift again. <br><br>I have never felt like this. I know this is not my watch, but I can not look at it the same way.
