Finally figured out the stupidity of the laws the residents are proposing in my town

Finally learned what was going on. My town is in the middle of a heated battle over the zoning laws that have been put in place for over 30 years. I live in a rural town that is 95% wooded with only about 15% being residential or commercial and the remaining 5% old farmland. Landowners are rightfully terrified that the town is trying to ultimately take away their land to satisfy the environmentalists. Landowners are worried that the zoning code changes they are proposing would lead to ultimately forcing people to sell their land for a token price. So yea stupidity can be very scary when it gets supported by your local government
