Is this just how it is?

I'm a 30yro, 5'4" average looking guy with a little extra weight. I've been on dating apps for some months now and I'm finding this community to be so hostile. From the female side that is. I'm not being rude or anything. I simply swipe on everyone I find "cute" and go from there to try and see if we have an interest. <br><br><br><br>I have been rejected on countless occasions. The few I have matched with are actually interested, but the majority that I have matched with have also ended badly. Simply because I'm not into casual hookups and they are. <br><br><br><br>But the biggest problem I see are the women who will match with me, open by saying "it's not my type" or "not really my cup of tea" but will end up getting mad at me for not being interested. <br><br><br><br>So I will just ask the question. Is this just how it is? I have literally been insulted on a few occasions and I don't get why. I have been respectful, polite, and genuine. So I don't get it. But I want everyone's opinions.
