CMV: Focusing on equality can lead to the opposite.

Recently I read several articles about how women are most often raped by men, and how men are most often murdered by men, making men the most dangerous gender for everyone.<br><br>The problem is that it felt like it was written to shift the focus from protecting women to something else. Focusing on the fact that women are also at risk of being murdered by men might make people less aware of the danger women are in, and how men can assault them, and how we should be careful when getting close to men.<br><br>It's like the focus shifted from women to men, and it felt very counter-productive.<br><br>In general I think that focusing on equality can lead to the opposite, because it can shift the focus from the real issues women are facing to a more "neutral" view.
