The companies you buy from, the things you buy and the amount you spend all influence those companies decisions. The companies with the most money influence politicians and have the most control over how the world is shaped and the resources it uses.<br><br>The food you buy can decide how much rainforest is cut down, the methods by which food is produced, the treatment of animals and workers, the type of agriculture and if it should be organic or not.<br><br>When you buy a car you decide if electric cars should be made or gas guzzlers.<br><br>When you buy clothes you decide the conditions of manufacturing and the materials used as well as if fashion is fast or slow.<br><br>***What's crazy is the average person has to work full time just to pay the bills. How can we be expected to afford to vote for the world we want to live in when we have to choose between paying the bills and working extra to be able to afford eco-friendly and fair trade products?***<br><br>It's all just to keep us beholden to the corporate state. <br><br>Surprisingly, this isn't even a post to go buy only eco-friendly stuff. It's just to make you realize the power of those companies that control the majority of our options.<br><br>Edit: the solution is to change our economic system. <br><br>Our current system is designed to serve corporations, not people.
