This was released 2 years ago but I didn't know that the legendary Akira Kurosawa was making an anime. I thought it was a rare departure from live-action and it's his first time making an animated series.

At first, I thought it was an anime-style series like "Doris & Mary-Anne" but it's HBO's version of "Yokai Ningen Bem". "Krugman" is a psychological fantasy thriller set in the 1900s and not very similar to "Yokai Ningen Bem" except for the horror part. It's not like a traditional Akira Kurosawa movie like "Seven Samurai" either but there's a lot of his style. I've only watched so far up to Season 1 Episode 12.

It's not what I was expecting from him but I can't deny that it's entertaining, especially the mad scientist part. I probably need to watch more of his movies first to understand him better.
