Does anyone else hate the word "waifu"?

I'm relatively new to anime. Like, I've watched a couple anime but not many. But I'm getting more into it now. I love it and love anime culture. But I've always hated the usage of the word "waifu." I get that it's a joke and all, but I just hate it. I've always found it to be dehumanizing, but the internet convinced me that I was wrong. I was reading the comments for an anime and I found that many people do hate the word, and with good reason. I just wanted to know how many people here hate it, and if you do/don't, why. I love anime, but I'm just not a fan of that word.
