Topline: If you believe that the British government (or indeed any other government) does not have the right to Draconian measures to suppress this virus, I want you to change your view.
Supporting Argument: Boris Johnson has just announced that his government
will fine people not observing social distancing measures
will ban gatherings of more than 2
will shut down non-essential shops.

You may think that his government is engaging in Draconian overreach akin to a police state. But I've got news for you, we have never faced a problem of this kind before. To those saying, oh this isn't as bad as SARS or the common flu, you are wrong. This is worse, and Boris has made the right call for our country. To those who think this is an overreach, you are incorrect as well. The government has a responsibility to keep us safe, and in these times, that requires drastic action.

Change my view.

Edit: I should add, that I do support compensation for those who cannot go to work. I believe the government has an obligation to protect and compensate them.
