Have you ever had higher expectations for an anime than it actually was?

I just watched Re:Zero and I was expecting it to be something that I would love, but it wasn't. It was still good, but not to the level that I would have expected after seeing all of the positive reviews it got. I have been disappointed by plenty of other animes before of course, but I think this is the one where the difference between my expectations and how I actually felt was the greatest. I thought it was interesting throughout, but I just couldn't bring myself to love it.
