Is there a way to get into witchcraft that isn’t capitalism?

I don’t know if this is the right sub to ask this in, but it seems like every time I try to look at books or stuff to get into witchcraft it seems more like capitalism than it does a spiritual journey like it’s supposed to be. There’s 1000 videos on how to make a witches altar, but if you get this crystal, this candle, these tools, and these herbs, you’ll be a better witch. I know they need to make a living but I’m on a budget and every time I try to research it I feel like the people telling me all this are just trying to make a profit off me. Is there a way to avoid this? Like, how do I know what kind of witchy stuff is real and what’s just trying to sell me something? Because it seems like the people who know the most about it are the people trying to make money off me and I’m a witchy beginner and don’t know how to avoid that. It seems contradictory to the spirituality of it to just be trying to make money off people trying to start a spiritual journey. Idk. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t know where to turn to so I’m turning to you guys.
