Is there any way of taking the spice off of weed?

I'm a redditor and I recently bought some weed off of a friend and noticed it has a spicier taste than the weed I usually smoke (black afghani kush). This weed is just so harsh and I'm looking for a way to make it less spicy. I'm smoking it with a bong so it's not the bong that's doing this. The weed is just harsh and not really doing much for me. Does anyone have any advice on how to make it less spicy? If not that's okay too.
