I'm a Trader Joe's employee, and I think they're testing for drugs

I work in the grocery industry for a company that's famously anti-drug testing. I've worked for them for over 10 years and they've never tested me nor do I think they ever will. I'm a high level manager too so I'd be the one they'd be testing if they were going to test anyone!

Anyway, I've noticed a trend lately.

I've hired about 100 people in the last year and I've noticed about 20% of them don't show up for training. The agency always says "Oh they failed the drug test". But we don't test them, so who does? The agency.

I've asked the agency about it and they always deny it. But they all do it. I've worked with about 5 different agencies and they all do it.

I'm not really sure what the point of this is. I guess I just want people to be aware that you might be getting drug tested even if the company you're about to work for doesn't test.
