CMV: The Mueller Report basically clears Trump, and he's obviously going to get re-elected in 2020.

I haven't seen very many people talking about the actual contents of the report, but to me it basically completely cleared Trump of any collusion, and did not provide very strong evidence that he obstructed justice.<br><br> Mueller's investigation basically found that there wasn't any evidence that Trump was actively colluding with Russia. It's possible that Putin was influencing Trump, but there's no evidence that Trump actively colluded. The report also states that Russians were trying to influence Sanders and other politicians as well.<br><br>The Trump campaign was obviously completely incompetent and unsophisticated, as evidenced by the fact that they screwed up countless other things and were completely incapable of running a normal campaign. The Russians reached out to the Trump campaign repeatedly, and Trump repeatedly blew them off. Not because he didn't want to be a Russian stooge, but because he was just a complete idiot.<br><br> Mueller basically states that he could not find that basically that Trump attempted to break the law or impede a legal investigation, but it also states that Trump repeatedly said the investigation should be stopped. This is pretty much the same as saying Trump didn't break the law, but he did say he would like to break the law. Mueller basically couldn't find that Trump actively broke the law, but it's possible that Trump wanted to break the law. But also it's possible he didn't, and it's really impossible to know.<br><br>I think this thing kind of just destroys most of the Democratic field. Gabbard and Sanders look good, because they didn't spend much time on the investigation. Warren, Harris, Gillibrand, and Booker took the standard Democratic talking point that the Mueller investigation was the biggest thing ever that would bring down Trump. It's clear that the investigation is basically over, and it didn't find anything that's going to bring down Trump. So the Democratic primary is going to be centered around whether or not to continue investigating Trump and impeaching him. In the general, Trump is going to basically say "you Democrats are all a bunch of paranoid fuckheads who don't believe in democracy, I have basically been cleared of any wrongdoing and you want me to be removed from office because you can't accept that the election was fair". And he's right. Democrats are going to lose the election because of the Russian investigation that went completely sour.
