Adults shouldn't be telling kids what they think "won't matter in 10 years". Why would they know?

Whenever kids are upset about school, they are told by adults "It won't matter in 15 years". That may be true, but how do they know? They went to school, Googled how to do anything, and grew up. They don't know what the future will hold, so they shouldn't tell us it will get better.
